I thought we would be loving
A lifetime and even more
Instead, you are now shoving
My love and me out the door

The eloquence of silence
Had become conversation
Now you’re eschewing pretense
She’s fired imagination

You’ve consigned me to your past
With pompous speech, concerned frown
Even knowing it won’t last
This rejection’s crushed me down

There’ll come a day, you’ll be back
You’re only her stepping stone
But such forgive, I just lack
When you return, I’ll be gone.

True. There are times too much water has gone under the bridge, and there's no going back. Look to better things ahead, and they ARE out there.

Suthern, you're quite a gal! You should never be treated in such a manner. You are worth your weight in gold and the man who is worthy of you is out there! The time will come when the smile on your face, in your heart and in your eyes will outshine the stars! ~ and I'm sending a prayer out to the Universe that this shall be so!

Love ya, Dear Belle of the South!

Suthern,

Girlfriend, I got to say it..."You kick butt!"  You reminded me of my ex...when I asked him awhile back why he hadn't filed for divorce, he said he hadn't quite made up his mind.  I told him I would make up his mind for him...Bye, bye butterfly and I hope the door does hit you in the rear.  See, you got me going now...LOL

Love this...so, so love this!

Beloved one, when you have the talent you have to write such truth and clarity, when you can weave wonder even out of the ashes of sorrow, when you have the ability to stud these pages with gems that bejewel this page as the stars bejewel the night. AS YOU DO, you don’t need to be able to write replies other than a simple I came, I read, and I enjoyed. The only reason I try to make my replies a little less than ordinary, and also fill the silence with senseless chatter is because I cannot do as you do and beloved one I know that I can’t. That is okay because all the time I can read your work, I shall know what delight there is and who writes it. The answer will always be Suthern writes beauty and Mushy writes replies.

I enjoyed the smooth delivery on this one.  I've never understood women who take a man back afterwards.  Sigh. I guess I'm hard-hearted, but when he left I was glad he was gone.

Sweet suthern lady, nobody should ever feel this kind of
deep heart hurt. If this is about you, my friend, I know
that you will someday meet someone who will be willing and
able to give you the kind of total love you are so deserving of.

This really touched me, Ruth. I could feel so much hurt and
pain in it. I'm so sad for you or whoever it is written for.
I sincerely hope that things will be better really soon.
Heart hugs to you
Ethel

Laura, I'm sorry this has come to you, and I do hope it changes soon. What a shame that the person who brought this may not know the pain they caused....I hope that changes too.

Thank you all so very much... I appreciate your kind replies more than I can say. *S*

This is more an attempt to rewrite history than anything else... my response then wasn't so brave... but the doormat has found some backbone. *S*

(big angel hugs) Oh Suthern, forgiveness takes time to understand, and your golden heart is bound to find the most precious love, as great rewards come in golden packages and come through patience! (kiss on cheek) You are special, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Suthern, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

your reply is as empowering as the punch of your poem. As we grow...we can indeed rewrite history!! You go get em Ruth-girlie.

When I'm with you my eyes are so wide ...
you reached right in my head and turned on the light inside
turned on the light in my mind.

It's cold out there when we're all alone!
We're survivors though, (got to be)
Hey,  we could even have our own show!     NOT

I felt every word you wrote and it hurt!
Warm hugs to you,  suthern gal.
