Embers

In the embers of nights gleam
Lay the essence of my dream
Wafting o’er the fields of green
Shifting idles of my preen

Flying to and fro the glow
All the secrets that I know
Making patterns of the weave
Into things that I believe

Placing actors on a stage
Some that never seems to age
Drawn from out a wishing well
Casting flames within a spell

And I am captive in my seat
Watching nuance of repeat
Doing whirls that pierce my heart
None of which will e’er depart

And so the river flows the night
Until the coming of the light

Good afternoon, T-Man!

Casting flames within a spell

And I am captive in my seat
Watching nuance of repeat
Doing whirls that pierce my heart

~ This is so timely for me! In a few hours I shall be leaving for the theatre to watch my boyfriend's leading role performance!

Another beautifully written sonnet! You amaze me how you can keep them coming! You are indefatigable! ~ and very talented!

Loves 'n huggums,
EA
