Crossed Paths

In the dark of night I reframe him
in overtones of blue,
a backwards dance
of lost romance
a whisper once so true.

I cover up in quilted warmth
the words that touch in play.
I'm missing him but come the new,
the turn of words will gray.

Their hue will tangle with those thoughts
in colors, window dimmed
and I will lay in silenced stay,
awaiting there for him.

Of mighty sword his words can wield,
that keeper of my heart.
I listen for his footsteps near
the many voices that he'll wear,
hoping he is always there
to rein me in, his art.

And yet today I'm grateful for
those who mean much on my mind.
Poets met three years ago,
some in real, a treasured find.

I'm blessed with much more than I say
and seem to write in spurts of blue.
It's loneliness, my empty write,
when words seem down to you.

But all in all, in silence spoke
responding to each word,
I'm always reading into yours,
as if from lips I've heard.

I'm rambling on, this morning dark
wondering where my path will lead,
knowing years have slowed in age
yet passed me being freed.

Support is what one relies on
and comfort comes to know
each of you that enters here,
this family on the grow.

I'm almost there, yet far to go
my words this thankful day,
wishing all the warming of
your hearts that turn this way.

I'm rambling again within my thoughts.
I'm missing what could be.
And so it's words that take their spin
to cross your path of me.

I do that a lot, Maureen. I think a lot about
how nice it would be to get to know ya'll here
at Passions, for real....face to face.
