If I Fall Asleep

By Larry Chadwick
For My Nancy Lee

If I fall asleep not to wake,
The world will still carry on.
And when the Lord does come for me,
Eventually I will see another dawn.

If I fall asleep not to wake,
The sun tomorrow will still rise.
And I will count on those I knew,
My memory to reprise.

If I fall asleep not to wake,
Then I will rest in peace.
The pain I bore,
Will finally have release.

But if I fall asleep not to wake,
Just one thing that you should know:
I loved you from the day we met,
And my sleep makes it no less so…

November 25, 2003

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

First let me say...how much you wonderful people truly mean to me. You continually touch my heart in ways so profound it defies the distance that we share. Thank you.

To Kacy(the sister of my choosing),
Bless you for your faithfulness and commitment to the truth. This will be my 53rd turkeyless thanksgiving!

Barry(my gentle souled friend),
You are a Class act. And that is a big C on purpose. Bless you.

Alyssa dear girl,
Bless your heart and may your trials pass quickly. Your response means more than you could possibly know.

Duncan(my smile making buddy),
Thank you. I promise to work on getting back online at home. I have truly missed you and your antics.

Keth,
Only you know how to humble a man who struggles with too much pride. Thank you dear girl. I hope you have an adequate supply of courage for your challenges.

Lauren(my dear friend with a big shoulder),
The candle burns. Bless you for your kindness and faithfulness. I pray all is well for you.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Thank you sweet friend. Please know I think of you.

Nancy Lee,
How I miss this place. And it's largely your fault. Thank you dear friend. May you have a wonderful holiday.

Caroline,
I see you joined just months after me though I don't recall having met. Sorry! But thank you for your kind words. They'll help me wade through life.

Chris,
A flower is always a lovely gift especially when accompanied by your goreous smile.

Terri,
How kind of you. Your thoughtfulness is a wonderful gesture. Thank you.

Love never really dies does it?  It's a feeling that remains for all of our days, even when it turns away, there is a place, and a peace to make.

You always write from your heart Larry dear,
and this, warmed me inside and out.

Happy Thanksgiving Day, I've missed you~

Dearest Larry,
You have amazing character and are the most honorable and humble man I have ever met. From pain that brought you so much sadness and tumbled into strength. The tears you shed the hugs you gave. The love that extends from your heart. All of this has made you the incredible person that you are. I am intensly blessed for the opportunity to have met you. You have been through so much, and have taught so much about love and loss.

Love Always and Forever,
Kellie Marie

Wow, that was so moving. I almost didn't stop crying since that touched somewhere so deep seeing how I just lost someone special to me too. Thank you so much for making me see things from that light.

God Bless

Dear sweet Larry, I don't know how I missed this wonderful
poem before now. I am so glad to see your name here.

You know what a hopeless romantic I am from reading my poems, but Larry, this is what LOVE  is all about. True love is truly everlasting.....for forever and for always.

Thank you for sharing your heart with us, and I will be glad when your internet is back working at home!! We all miss you, sweet friend.
Hugs to you and yours,
