In grace
Words relieved the days
As she penned the heart inside
Winding tales
                     In lazy horseshoe bends
Of thought

Then came the rains
            And in flood
Fertile again was born
Somewhere close
      to the delta

I’d not sway this time
I told myself

Only to be uprooted
Her words uncovering
What was firmly set

So she sang
And I learned along the way
the music was her own
Played in time to phased moon
And ancient thoughts
Renewed

Some where close to New Orleans

Now you've made me
want to return there,
to walk the French Quarter
again...

well done, Sir.

YEAAAAAA it is so good to see you posting! Gads, I could hear the music of the big bands and the "life" New Orleans vibrates. And I hear a soft sound of a gal singing this makes me miss the south sooooo much....

Lauren~

I had a dream last night
you came to me on silver wings of light
I flew away with you in painted sky
Was it real
Is it what you see, touch or feel

yes, she sings a beautiful unique melody, and your write is right on

AHEM...don't you know we installed a 24 hour Passion's GPS card onto your mainbrain's motherboard? LOL, hope you aren't gone for very long, so I don't have to factor in some serious withdrawal symptom time on my calendar.

Hiya Cap...don't know where your going, but what I do know is that I will miss reading you...as I look forward to seeing you in there and reading your poetry.  But...regardless, where ever life finds you traveling to, wishing you the best of the best, always.  Have learned much from you...within both your comments and poems as well.  Thank you

Best wishes Lee J.

Well you ... it isn't over until the fat lady sings they say, and this was one hell of a song indeed!  I am thrilled you put it up, as it truly captures her to a "K!"
So she sang
And I learned along the way
the music was her own

That it is, and I don't suppose there will ever be another quite like this her, for her wisdom is not equalled by many.  You did her proud, yes you did!  Take care and thank you for your words they enriched this Canadian girl with a scope of poetry few are capable of creating.     Good luck to you Ron.

"Do you know what it means, to miss New Orleans?"

New Orleans has survived many a storm.

She'll wait for you, methinks.

You are the poetry man, Cap.

Thank you for being.

For you both...

Misty morning
New Orleans.

Sidewalk, ramble worn smooth,
cracked through bloodshot eyes, stoned puddles,
streetlights sketch black and white
rainbows through the fog.

Steps into blocks, turn
till I am finally home,
too chilled for October.

What is this?
A fire already
seduces from hearth,
‘Come rest, come warm’.
How can that be,
has someone visited?
No, see…
only figments
warm echo of imagination
still hang from the night.

Was it just then,
I held her?

Misty mornings
still postcards,
signed with love.
