Glimpsing a toothless slobbering portion
An evil grin…slaiva dripping
stale breath soaked air....

Stepping backward in alarm
Slowly…slowly, I couldn’t turn and run
Instead I was taken
To a place in a deep dark tunnel
Shifting analyzed details…over and over
There was light
Far in the distance, but only
Through my mind, fled the consideration

Fragments of one very dark human form
Dimensions which didn’t possess validity
The ability to lock on perception
Or hold it, even through a small inner voice
I screamed bitterly, for my life, but no one heard

Counting annoyance of a black rapidly declining crow
Bitter expressions, spewing poisons over a trusting psyche and soul
Of the child…only 5 years old…

Obvious youthful something’s like holding a puppy
Concealed a needle, where skin quietly remained inflamed
And slightly swollen…a stigma burning into human flesh
With great astonishment did its work at best

Kneeling to the minutes of change, praying for it to end
Immobilizing my arms, my voice, my emotions….
Puncturing every brother, sister, cousin & friend
Chloroforming the child, a handful of atoms locked
With frenzied feedings…
In a deep dark spell…of what was anticipated, from the child

Working a puzzle of caustic long-nurtured fear
An endless vortex of unsteadiness, most of society ignores
Urging tremors and creasing voice, gagging mouth,
By the pilot laying a soul on the shelf, forever more

Closing eyes tightly and mentally pinching skin
Pinching the fabric of reality…smothering that tweaked
Surreal geometry, engaging the five senses within

Restraining presser with lazy words…
A choice that left never to return
Words were never to be repeated
Suggesting carelessness of villainy
Were supernatural forces so seamlessly entwined?
Why did they abandon..
While this monster’s sharp dialogue took away sunlight

Where was everyone?  All the adults…why did they leave?

And at his prow the pilot held
within his hands his freight of lives
eyes wide open, full of moolight

Night Flight
