hey everyone! Its my first time posting in here so I'm a little nervious! It's been raining alot lately here in washington so I just had to write this. I think it sounds more like a song, what do you think?

Staring at the sky through my window
Least as far as I can see today
The tree's are hanging closer than usual
Heavy from all they've drunk today

A cat slips onto my door step
Dirty from all her escapades
She turns to me as she is preening
to say, "I meant to do every thing I did, today.

I meant to get into the neighbors garbage
Though I am sure I made an awful mess
I know my life ain't worth a damn on the highway
That is why I stay close to the fence.

I know that old dog must chase me.
It's in his nature to stake a claime,
And I know if he ever catches me
This old girl will never be the same.

I know quite well as I ate my dinner
Who hurt whome and where to place the blame
The blood has gotten on my collar
That is why I'm thankful for the rain."

The gray light slipped into my window
Turning all the colors the same
And I thought as she was speaking
That she and I were also the same.

Some times the air can get quite fetted
On to many still and sunny days
though I enjoy my time in the sunshine
The heavens seem cleaner sence it rained.

The heavens seem cleaner sence it rained
Heaven Seems cleaner sence it rained.

Because of you I laugh a little harder, smile a little more, and cry a little less

Thank you for posting, you have done well, you have done the right thing today! This is a most beautiful song and the repetition in the end gives a feeling of release. There is a positive surrendering in your words. From the cats we can learn quite a few things, if we listen well!
Love, Margherita

this is awesome! I love the way that you incorporated the cat into this! Great stuff, IMO
