+*+*+*+*+

Morning Glories shimmer,
In the early rising sun,
As rays reflect off fairy dust,
Sprinkled when day is done.

Shamrocks and Hollyhocks,
Line many a garden path,
And if you hush and listen,
You can hear the fairies laugh.

Lily of the Valley,
Perfumes the morning air.
And bluebells ring, in spritely tunes,
In Ireland's County Claire.

Yes, my grandma kept all of those, from those tiny white bells in a shady corner, to the tall and somehow-tough-enough hollyhocks right out in the Missouri sun....I haven't been to Ireland, but I've seen a bit of her beauty transplanted into a place that would have been bleary over dreary without it.

Thanks for the memory, even if it's of a different place, connected only by family ties that were old before I ever knew them.

Linda, This is one of your very best. What a beautiful image this brought forth this sunny morning.

Some day I hope to travel to Ireland and walk the hills of green.

You just gave me a memory of my childhood path from front gate to doorsteps... with ghostly lily of the valley reflecting the moonlight like tiny lamps. *S*

Beautiful work, lady... I almost visited Ireland once but the trip was canceled... today, it came to me. *S*

Thanks for the suggestion! I just might do that and add it to my repetoire of children's songs! I used to perform my songs professionally, but I have been lead in different directions since that time. The common refrain that I hear from people that I know is, "Linda still doesn't know what she wants to be when she grows up!" lol
