Between the Lines

I've twisted myself inside out and still
I am greeted with insensitivity,
making way for a diet of starvation
where the only feedback is the unseen,
unheard battle, contemplating goodbye.

There is no victory in honesty,
no winning bound by fears and
when you can crowd yourself in aloneness
reality becomes altered
until there is no saving the stolen moments
in the trappings of need.

My words were never mightier than the sword,
my longings lies told to myself.
And whatever ruled the heart, was blind faith
in yesterday, as I hide my feelings
in possibilities that I watch slip away.

The windows are streaked in tear thoughts,
the night dragging on while I pound out
the words that rain down on me
to wilt my limbs and leave me limp, fatigued
and weakened from struggling to survive,
from want and need that seems so easy to ignore.

No more nakedthoughts to rise
and dress the morning wake,
no more smiles to script my days.
Another chapter is to close upon me
as the cold winds blow and the warmth takes its leave
and I, I take my simply complex life
in its stride through to the other side of that mirror
relinquishing my hold on all and any left behind.

abandoned by someone,
but not lost to ourselves ....

I sometimes hold memories closer than heart.

and there shall never be a forgotten nakedthought!!!!

And yet the things you say, even the hard things, are true and good.
