* * *

There is so much of myself
That I would like to give
To help save someone's life
When I'm no longer able to live

To give the gift of life
Is such a special thing to do
But unfortunately organ donors
In number are only few

I have pledged to be a donor
After I take my final breath
So parts of me may go on living
In the days after my death

I hope my eyes provide a window
To see the things that I once saw
It will be like a new adventure
With so much to explore

Maybe my kidneys will give life
To an ailing mother
And my liver might live on
Inside a sister or a brother

Someone might be the recipient
Of my still beating heart
A part of me will go on living
Of their new life I'll be a part

So won't you please consider
You will have nothing to fear
Don't take your organs with you
For heaven knows we need them here

"The richest people in our society
are those who can give without
feeling in any way
diminished by giving
This has nothing to do with money
It has everything to do with feelings
of self-love and abundance"

I am in motion
I am blue
Love is an ocean
I'm anchored in you

I concur with the last comment. Strange, I was on the beach two days ago and noticed in staring at the sky that my eyes, whose vision was once my pride, now have several scratches on their lenses. It made me think of donorship and what a surprise these used eyes would be to a recipient. Enjoyed

(big hugggssssssss) God Bless You, sweet friend, you are a very loving and giving spirit and I too am an organ donor as I believe that we can make a big difference giving a part of ourselves to others when our lives are through and save anothers life or two, for if we don't give, then it is a waste of organs! (wipes tears) You are an angelic spirit right here on Earth, sweet friend, yay, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sue, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Last year a close friend of mine was killed in an accident, and I was absolutely devestated. But his family chose to donate his organs, and six people were given another chance at life, which makes me realise that Danny's life will keep going in a way, even though I'll never meet these people. Thank you for sharing this with us, it's a beautiful reminder for us all.

Organ donation is a very delicate subject for some people and it can also be a religious issue for some.  When you read about how many people are on waiting lists for organ donation, I think that is enough in itself to inspire you to do something to help.  However, it is a personal decision and as far as I am concerned I believe I feel so much richer for becoming a donor.

Thank you all for taking the time to read this which is a subject very important to me.

Take care........Sue

So much we should give.
A very thoughtful way you share the sentiment with us.
