Of Darkness

There is darkness and
Shadows in the hearts oppress
Darkness is not a cad
But the shadows do me bad.

In the dark I rest my mind
But also dwell shadows I find
Fasting the phantoms of the past
And the shadows that they cast

It is the wrapping rouse and steer
The tapping of the blind I fear
The whispering of hollow point
Attack my bones at every joint.

Whispers me a tale of woe
A whale of truth ago
And vertigo tumbles me
Upon a black and timeless sea

A sea without the stars to guide
Within this black I cannot hide.

You and I have discussed concept
of vertigo - we both have wept
'tis not a fun thing this we know
walking upright, then down we go...
it makes for shadows lean and mean
offering fantasy but shallow dream ~
for this I know, so be held in ease
while I gently hug and squeeze...

Ah dear Sy..a thought provoking post this ayem.
I've been told on many an occasion that I am a bit dizzy.
Perhaps a spot of tea would help?

All I want to do is wrap you in a warm embrace and say, "There, there, Dear Thigh Man, I mean "Sigh" Man, the sun is up and everything is going to be just fine."

This hurts, dear Seymour.
But it is only a temporary state of darkness, the light is right there to erase the shadows. Trust!

feel the sun upon your face and
a smile inside your heart. take care

another beautifully descriptive side of live....one that may touch us all, at times...in lack of awareness as well as a medical problem.

Thanks Sy, wishing you a great day.

Darkest before the dawn, I hope.  Do you really have vertigo or was this an analogy?  In either case, best wishes.  Really appreciated your writing.
