**To Jimmy**

Though many years have passed
Here we stand together, on this day
Though I may have stumbled along the years
Somehow I found my way

Our lives have taken us to this point
I'm glad I reached out to you
Though it's been a hard journey indeed
I guess through it all, I still was a part of you

When you tell me that you always loved me
I believe you, and your eyes of blue
For when I look at you, I see me
I see a man whose dream finally came true

Though many may not understand
And some would have a sharp word to say
They are not who I am concerned with
It's because of you that I will stay

Time has worn on you hard
But I still see kindness in your eyes
And I realise now more than ever
Never truly did we say good-bye

I don't know what tomorrow holds
However I do know; God brought us together
For there are some bonds you can't break
Fathers and daughters are forever

"love is like a butterfly--
if you chase it,
it will surely fly away,instead
hold it close and watch it grow into
something beautiful"

Amy~

I cannot tell you how deeply this touches me, and how heart aching this really is. I think too we are brought to certain points in life for reasons we may not be able to explain right now, but I feel will benefit us in the long run....this is such a wonderful release of healing, we all need to "purge" sometimes.....I know I still am....and will continue to do so.  Hugs and much peace for this.  I know where it “comes” from.  You will continue to grow, and head down the path, which is right for you.   and I have not forgotten the email, I have been busy with both girls being home from daycare, and school.

Lauren~

I had a dream last night
you came to me on silver wings of light
I flew away with you in painted sky
Was it real
Is it what you see, touch or feel

thank you all for these wonderful
replies. this was a really hard poem
for me to write, but one which brought
me a great amount of release. I can't
begin to even express the happiness
I feel when each of you takes the time
to respond to my work, I truly feel I
have somewhere I belong. Thank you so
much and God bless you all!
Take care
Amy

A very touching piece here.  I really enjoyed it.  There is always something special between a father and daughter.

Oh yes Amy, Fathers are special, way up there with Mothers and this was a wonderfully sweet tribute to yours. I hope he sees it, where ever he is.

Thanks again for all the wonderful
replies...you all truly are the best
friends a woman could ever ask for!

**update**

I have been seeing my bio father off and on for about two months now. While we still have much ground to cover, and emotions to
go through, things for the most part are turning our rather well, beyond any of my
expectations. I will be spending the day
after Christmas with him. Thank you all
again so much!

Happy Holidays,
Amy
