November’s ash gray face
speaks of deep pain and loss,
weathered tombstones grow
on the dark green lawn,
as ominous as wilted flowers,
a reminder of how all things pass,
of how all life undergoes transformation,
a clear sign of the passage of time.

Hushed silence enfolds me,
while I walk in search of peace
amidst encircling gloom,
my vision blurred through tears,
mist rising and hiding the light,
building a wall of separation.
My breath the only sound I hear,
as if Nature bowed in sorrow.

I stand and listen to this silence,
deeply lost in my solitude.
My friends the trees stand mute.
“Reach out” a tiny voice of hope
whispers from within my heart.
I raise my arms high in invitation,
asking life’s tunes to play for me.
I offer my heartbeat as the key.

The leaves crackle under my feet
the trees suddenly whisper softly,
soothing sounds begin to diffuse.
Birds awaken from slumber and sing.
The mist slowly dissolves, setting free
the colors which were cloaked in gray.
I open my heart to beauty and love,
I release the heavy load of pain.

I feel a flow of heavenly energy
streaming through my veins,
bringing warmth back into me.
Even before the sun breaks through
I welcome it into my very core.
Clearly I see the magnificence
unfolding within and around me
and I exult in divine light’s embrace.

My dear Margherita...

I can't believe I've missed this treasure until now. (I guess I'm not used to seeing this username!).

You know how I adore and crave your exquisite imagery. You're the best! And, this awesome image you've found is quite extraordinary...how ever did you get the artist to paint it for your verse so quickly?

Love and Light...jc
