Re-forged (a Villanelle)

Re-forged in the fiery furnace heat
Two wounded hearts do mend
Walk the path where two souls meet

Blessing with tears my life complete
Raised up with faith, transcend
Re-forged in the fiery furnace heat

Finding the garden of retreat
In the heart of my truest friend
Walk the path where two souls meet

We were apart, our world discrete
Two hearts now melt and blend
Re-forged in the fiery furnace heat

Tender the words , the thoughts so sweet
Held where the bough does bend
Walk the path where two souls meet

Drink of love's cup we are replete
Though the world can't comprehend
Re-forged in the fiery furnace heat
Walk the path where two souls meet

Love is something eternal, The aspect may change, But not the essence.- Vincent Van Gogh

EA,

Thank you, the first stanza came while I was busy with something else earlier this morning and has been tickling my mind since then.

Margot,
This was indeed a treat. Your subject is strong ( obviously ), your meter, while it does seem to fluctuate, remains intact throughout. Very well crafted in my opinion.

Excellent... this is a form I don't even attempt - I leave it to experts such as you!
