If only you knew the core of me that
frets longingly in your away.  That
catches the swirl of mind and brings
fears to bay...

This part of me that slows the tear
of frightful nights, of insect fear.   Of
shadows dark upon the wall, of
thumps and creaks that wait the hall.

I stand beyond the crack of door, a
smile does grace, bring anew.  Anew
a moment of my defense.   Anew,
a time of when and whence.

I held you then, I’ll hold you now
close to heart, as I know how.  I’ll
whisper words that take away each
shadow’s walk...in fright’s foray.

You are a jewel, a gem most fine.
So delicately woven, so divine.  You bring
to me a daughter’s love....now soar
my angel, the heights above.

I sing to you a father’s song, a song of
wisdom, of strength most strong.   A
lullaby which does close those eyes,
a moment where a father cries.

I cannot stay, I now must go.  My duty
given,   I love you so.  I’ll stand before
your window sill, protecting and guarding
you....darling, I will.

Awwww I wish I had had a dad like that. Very sweet. This also worked for me as a mom. No matter how far away my boys are I still have them tucked away in my wings of prayers, and thoughts, and concerns for their well being. I am saving this. Lovely this was and one I won't forget for a very long time.
Love,
Terri~

this is one of them.

Barry,

This brought a tear to my eye. Very sweet and expressive. I wish all dads could be like that.

This one made my nose run and my eyes blink. I must be coming down with something-oh yes, admiration.
