Listening to every heart

You Waited For Me

Heat of summer has simmered away
To a murmur of leaves’ rustling
Before the fall sets in to stay
The last rose waited for me

Grass hewed deep in colors green
And squirrels are busy, bustling
Still, before the fall gives sheen
The last rose waited for me

Slow to loosen your petals pink
Holding back your fragrance deep
A perfect bud, in vase; methinks,
The last rose waited for me

In the morn, your petals will bloom
To open full from night’s sleep
Perfume will drift through the room
The last rose waited for me

Oh Karilea,
These perfect thoughts to bud and pick at will.  What a beautiful poem you have written here. TD

Wow, Karilea dear, I just admired my two own blooming roses on the balcony. They are a precious gift in this season indeed.
Beautiful, pic and words.
Love and hugs. Margherita

I pondered deeply at my plight;
I shovel snow with no delight.
My city here with rustling leaves
says only winter. (lest it deceives?)

But from this town where all things grow,
The blooms have faded long ago.
We're known for flowers, roses and cannas.
But now I read of a bloom in KANSAS?

Nicely done!  (as always :-))

Through rubble and trouble and dark of night
The yawn of a dawn will hasten the light

We all know that the beauty of the rose
waits patiently for the bearer to come.
And this is no exception.

Karilea,

This is wonderful! This would look really nice if it were on a card too. As always GREAT work.
