Night’s Negligee

Night clings its negligee through mists of cold
And gently wraps the lovers’ warm embrace
Whilst whisp’ring stars their cadence calls of old
Didst bear them witness in that blessed place.

Bespeak of love, oh, knighted tongue of night
With brilliant rhapsody unchanged by naught
That lovers in such hallowed places might
Unmask the sacred source of love o’erwrought.

The hidden heart of love is precious still
To pure of heart and, yet, still pure of soul
So night-caressed and suff’ring wintry chill
These lovers in her sweet embrace art whole.

As Night’s sweet ambiguity revealed—
Through pain of love, a lover’s heart is healed.

I am so very impressed with your work.  This verse is beautiful, ryhme, meter, flow, and message.  Ah...to know love again, to melt the winter ice of what was before and could be again beautiful.  Understanding that one must step lightly, as not to slip and fall.  I must say this is what I have taken from this piece, perhaps because this is what I am going through in my own life.

A note to Dixie (Passing Shadows)...I don't know if the scar tissue remains or not (surfacing as a memory)but I do think once trust settles in, that memory will fade in the dust.  My friend, that is my most sincere wish for you.

Oh..my...So devine..I just love this style of poetry!

Beautiful....tis ever so lovely and sweet,
as honey dripping from your lips...tis true!
When new love is born..old love dies and is gone..to much happiness to even think aboout pain!

Steaven~
Reading you in the archives and found this beauty ... how lovely to think of our night slipping around in her negligee~
Night clings its negligee through mists of cold
And gently wraps the lovers’ warm embrace'

Beautiful~
