Gentle Poet

You sweet gentle poet are standing on a precipice in time.
Your words likened to golden grains of glistening sand.
Do not cast them aside letting them be words floating on the wind.

Ah!
Sweet gentle poet, do not let the world kill thy precious words of beauty.
Fiery arrows they do sling filled with
prejudice and contempt,
for they do not understand
the beauty that flows
within
your tender loving heart.
Do you not know that
thy words will last until the ends of time?
Ah!
Sweet gentle poet,
into each generation a tear will fall from
the
exquisite tenderness your words do portray.
Do not let thy words of wisdom and beauty die
and
drift into the wasteland of shattered dreams.
Words never to be heard, humanity never to have felt the
heated passion hidden deep
within
your powerful poetry.
Ah!

destroy your loving tender heart.
