A fence in the wind,
bird calls, a distant tractor;
sounds of growing wheat

yep, most folks except us Kansans don't realize that is where the expression "talking heads" comes from. Stalks that talk with heads of bread.

Seriously, a very nice haiku, enjoyed muchly.

sounds like golden wheat to me, just ripe for the harvest...oh life is so sweetly defined, as are your thoughts, heart and poems.

Having been there, I've heard the sounds of wheat.
This is exceptional and with your permission, I'd like to print it out and keep it.

Such a peaceful painting you've shared with us... and that last line is a beautiful invitation to stop and listen... I like this very much, my friend! *S*

I think you have written many poems like this. It is like a miniature painting to me, and I'm glad I saw it.

I love the sound of wheat blowing in the soft winds..walking barefoot into the wheat fields...reading your poem brought these images to my mind....

Please don't leave us..a void would be in our hearts....same advice back to you that you gave me...

Whoa! "sounds of growing wheat"

I can almost hear the winds creating a rattling of the grains! Superb!!

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.
