I give a piece of me to you
Then watch you walk away
I'll wait right here for your return
Unperturbed by your delay

I sit and watch the world go by
A girl just sitting in the sun
But as the afternoon grows long
My mind becomes undone

I look around
I look for traces
Of things I know
Or familiar faces

I think I recognize my heart
Reflected in the glare
I see the pieces on the ground
And pretend that I don't care

A great write with wonderful imagery, a giving soul that's not receiving, saddened, but in love believing.
Great to meet you on PiP, enjoyed you work, thanks for sharing.

Sincerely
Rick
