Listening to every heart

Celebration

An escape sounds of
Aruba, Jamaica, ooo I want to take ya

my mind's eye is not here
in the now,
but there, in a day of future light,
where smells and feel, climate and sounds
are similar, but different,
I am already
sensing distinct contrasts of something so vast,
it will take several trips back
just to acknowledge
its reality…

then, as if I haven’t worked
most of my life, I shall suddenly be shipboard,
to set sail and envision myself as, royalty?
(Smile.)
No, but something close,
all the meanwhile, feeling this bubble inside
growing on seeds of panoramas previously journaled
and televised for my eyes,
and I shall see for myself, for the first time,
colored vistas film cannot possibly
imprison, and I prepare my memory, emptying
it of anything that would mar the filming
to come.

Soon, I shall sink to sift sands
between fingertips in explore, while probably
pocketing a pebble or two as gifted
touchstones to finger upon return,
to retain these moments of touching a dream,

and perhaps,
just perhaps, I shall meet
an old friend, one of my mind, alone,
to listen to his talking of how it is,
there, in the Yucatan,
where anything can happen,
if you look into the horizon, just long enough.

Yes...where anything can happen dear lady!
And..just wanted you to know..I bring back pebbles to hold and remember happenings and the joys of being on a journey.
