A cold has settled in my chest
So genius here thought it’d be best
To bring about cough’s quick cessation
With a medicinal libation
“Non-Drowsy” were the words I read
But how they lied; I long for bed
Words swim onscreen; I could just weep
I’m desperately craving sleep!
Boss thinks there is much I should do
I glare through gloom, answer “Ah-choo!”

There is only one reply to Achoo ...
and that of course is a sincere Bless You!
With that I'll offer a tissue and some tea
but what to do bout a boss that wont let you leave early?

Hey Toe!!??!! ... I've come calling cuz I'm hoping ...
you can teach Ruth to sleep with her eyes open.

*shaking me head at me*

havent written in months and see what you do to me?

Hey.. atleast I didnt make any chest cold jokes  LMAO

I know...go fall asleep on genius's desk...
that will give him the hint ya need to go home.

Hope ya feel better Ruthie.

When I'm with you my eyes are so wide ...
you reached right in my head and turned on the light inside
turned on the light in my mind.

Oh shucks.

I had hoped not to pass it on
but trust me well, it'll be many a dawn
before that cold is put to rest,
and trust me too, bed is best...
it seems to linger and your throat, tickle
it'll make you long for things like pickles ~
you need something to cut the beast in two
maybe I should bring you chicken stew?
Call the doctor, get REAL meds...
then tell the boss, "Poo!, I'm home to bed!"

SuthernGal~
I KNOW that feeling ... having been ill for a solid two weeks with a raging fever and cough ... thank goodness I can stay home and SLEEP~

However, last week I got hold of a cough medicine that left me BUG-EYED ALL NIGHT LONG~

Feel better gal ... hey big bossman ... let that gal go home or subject yourself to immediate contamination !

Love ya' girlie~

JM: Many thanks for those poetic blessings… and your wishes. *S* If we’d only known that it just took a good sneeze-shower to wake your muse up, I’d have found someone with pneumonia! *G*

Ericc:  You’d laugh more if you could see my Rudolph nose. *G* Thank you! *S*

Sunshine: Yammean YOU’RE to blame??? LOL Pass that chicken stew on over here, gal… Thank you! *S*

PS: Thank you, ma’am! *S*

Cpat: How I wish I could! *G* That need for a paycheck is pathetic, isn’t it? *G* Thank you! *S*

Ratleader: I wouldn’t wish this on you for anything, my friend… but I’m so glad this smile made things better for a while. *S* Take care of you! *S*

Marge: I don’t want the bug-eyed stuff… I want the out-like-a-light stuff! *G*  I hope you get to feeling better soon, dear friend… take care of you!

GS: And around… and around… and around. *G* Work has my body… but they also have my crankiness. *S* Thank you! *S*

Suthern ~

I almost missed this delightful poem! ~ however, I do have compassion for your sorry state of discomfiture!

It is the absolute pits when you feel like that at work and your body begs to be put to "rest"!

Sending you a shot of energy! ~ Vitamin B 12 ! lol

I know you really need the rest,
Perhaps a pint of Tussionex
I'm sure you'll find that it's the best,
If it don't work, I'll drink the rest!

You poor thing!  You know I think people are mean when I am sick.  They push you out of the way at the pharmacy, try to butt in line, and are downright rude.

I am not one of those people, dear Ruthie!  I hope you get well soon, girlfriend.  And dang it all, call out sick if you must.  That boss can do it himself for a day.

Take care and get some rest if you can.

ohhh I do understand!
I haven't slept *counts on her fingers* 4 days or nights now.. and I'm sick, and I have a migraine.... it just makes school a blast!
Luckily I saw a couple docs last week and another tomorrow, err today now, so I'll sleep sometime soon.
As for you, get out of there and go sleep. Best thing is to keep a pillow in your car and sleep through lunch hour lol... feel better!

Always, Alyssa

Toe: You're more than welcome to my worthless nyquil? *G* Thank you! *S*

Seymour: I've just been going through the motions and living for the weekend... hope it helps! *S* Thank you!

M'toe: Now if I could smell or taste, I'm sure I'd enjoy the soup! LOL Thank you very much. *S*

Patricia: I'm afraid my boss would call me at home... and my response to THAT would surpass rude and get me fired! LOL Thank you very much!

Enchantress: Rest and coughing seem to be mutually exclusive... but I'm trying! *S* Thank you!

Goldenrose: Thank you very much! *S*

GG: I ride the bus, so that's not an option. *G* Thank you so much... hope we both feel better soon!
