A vessel in the field
Untouched, in doubt of change
A messiah left inside a basket
No home, no name
Would you take him on your own
Or send him on his way
Would you burn the field
In spite of nothing
Just to seize the day
Throwing back the cycled disciple
Into the waters from whence he came
Swore him off and waved goodbye
With a smile and blessing all the same
Would you go down with the ship
The one you had helped to sink
Stand in shame and pride defeated
Just waiting for the brink
The edge of the world and the edge of the end
The end of the light, inside the can, encased in crystaled tin
Through water turned rust as steel fixed fingers begin to push
They peel back the winter they pull back the rush
As the sorrowed dam begins to break killing the town in a torrent of lush,
Waters so blue their cries became dormant,
The towering wall, their inevitable casket,
So blue and beautiful as it falls
Taking every man women and child back down to the muddy fields,
to their fallen messiah, the child in the basket

*this wasn't about moses or jesus, just a thought of how a good idea can become so clouded people will die and more importantly kill to protect standards they themselves are not yet willing to live up to
