Thru the stone halls lit only by burning flame,
wild torches on the wall whispering my name.
Hooded in the corner listening for any sound,
the faint clack of heels hitting on the ground.
Gripping my lite sword death kisses the blade,
without a sound I mark another midnight raid.
Wipe my blade clean and hear a hoot owl call,
moonlight witness sitting high on shadow wall.
Back into the night myst both knowing will fly
me into Baroque darkness-the other to the sky.

I have a spoken word mp3 of this if anyone wants it

....and I couldn't help remembering that owls eat rats.....I hope your expedition involves hunting!

And the poem -- dark, but good to read. A solid piece of writing here.
