Breaking Away

Such a difficult task
when the tendrils of need
are so strong
their longing grip
grasps beyond one’s conscience
though gnawing guilt
attempts to sway
pulling, pulling, pulling
away
still I cling
wanting anything
I may gain
from hanging on
one more minute
one more second
for just one more...

I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Hi Virginia, I have not seen you for so long. Not sure if I've been gone or you've been gone. Either way, nice to see you and hope all is well.

Hugs, Marti
