This was written for my Aunt

Should You Lead

It is of delicate inspiration and pure will from HIM
That I could inhale this lifetime in the same breath as you
It's a Father's lending of fulfillment HE'S allowed me to keep
And, good fortune has paved this unforgettable view...

I've walked it all in recognition that HE'S loaned me this grace
And, I'm in thankfulness for your love that I could call mine
I praise the heavens for when HE was sending your soul to be shared
That I was one of them chosen to be there in line...

We've all known life to be dreary with uncertainty some days
Yet, in my darkness, you've shined far brighter then the sun
Should you ever desire a friend like you've been to me
Then, may God mold me to be the same kind of one...

It's moments of us I replay when I need shelter
And, for me, God directs them to my quiet stare
Should you ever long for a memory to fill your heart
Then, may HE show me the quickest way there...

I know dusk can be heavy as it lies over head
So, HE gives me dreams to reach you when life is tough
Should you ever feel this weight God's trying to release you from
Then, maybe, HE will allow me to help HIM lift you up...

When life must come to it's final resting time
When the only holding on I'll have is what I can picture in my mind
Then, here is only one thing that I want you to know
Should you lead, should leave me, I would follow...
