THE DILEMMA

If we philosophically
accept
life to be equal
then if ours is
endangered
and we can only
save it by destroying
that of others'
then we would
stop defending
our life
if endangered
and we would prefer
to die
instead of those
who endanger our life.

More specifically:

we would condemn
and not fight
war
we would rethink
our diet
trying to minimize
death of living
beings in it
we would prefer to die
in torture
than to condemn
others to die-

But what if your
wife husband or child
lover mother father
brother or sister
you love
will die
unless you kill
an intruder
in your house
you think that
intruder's life
worth less than
that of those
dear beloved
to you

If you say
you think life
is equal
I say upon
reflection-
If I can truthfully
say life is equal
I'm either a saint
or an idiot.

But what's
the difference
anyway!?

whew, you've got me spinning here...
adding this, if an intruder entered my home, I'd surely defend my family?

But you have made one heck of a point

Good write to ponder...except one thing...no one has the write to harm another and yes, even if their lives are equal...still, common sense should tell a body, not to enter someones home, or they're apt to get themselves in trouble?  No?

Good one, thanks for sharing.

(sigh) Common sense and fortune are both such powerful themes we live with, and sometimes I feel fortune is just as practical as common sense when it keeps rocking at its pendulum! (big hugggsssssss) God Bless You, sweet friend, this is wonderful philosophy, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Magic, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!
