Loosing North

there is an angry sea out there
and it has touched our calm
where days before I had seen
the water smooth as glass
I do not know where it came from
crashing waves of words breaking the surface
some surprising force unknown blown
lulled by the tender easy sailing I fell asleep
I dreamed I slept safe in a house of light
pulled from the tidal drown I felt home
waking to find it just a salty illusion
fear to disturb both my days and nights
in my dreams I had seen my north
now I have hit the rocks and sails have no steer
silent upset canvas shows no movement
I taste the salt and I have lost my direction

The depth and emotion stirs ponderous thoughts~

'crashing waves of words breaking the surface'

I just LOVE that thought !!!!

It can be a blessing, to be becalmed...especially when you're against the rocks.

You know what happens next, and how to do it -- don't you. I've seen you do it, and I'm confident you'll make it happen this time too. Go ahead...it's not far.
