Out Making Anticlines

Enveloped

Yes, you’ve closed
it up on me.
you’ve put this dry,
impersonal surface
between us,
the love letter
resealed

I can’t even know
whether you’ll keep me
in your purse to savor
some time soon

or stuff me into
a coat pocket
to show a friend
over coffee and
laughter

Worse, am I dropped
careless, thrown
into a drawer,
forgotten?

If I sent
myself again
would you read?
Would you open
me at all?

My paper may
yellow here,
but the ink
will never
fade

ugh........how pathetic on her part, if such is true. and how fortunate if youve left her behind now

Ink = blood = memories = life.

Enveloped in heart.

Well done, sir.

This touches me greatly... feeling discarded, wondering what still matters... or ever did... these come to life through your pen... This won't fade from my thoughts anytime soon... excellent! *S*
