where the wild flowers grow

0 posted 2003-11-10 04:41 AM

I spiral my world around with my finger..

Oh, why must I hope?

What am I,
but a lie?

I
seek
freedom from the confinement
of my own mind.

Yet the thoughts
never sputter
as they once did,
for I have grown
weary of my own words.

What more
is there?

What destiny ..is existent..
within
a teardrop,
or the strings,
that reverberate
one note..
could rip me apart.

If I
should let
myself be torn,
and choked
by the beads
of sweat
that necklace themselves
down my forehead..

..in
anticipation

for and end,
any end..
that will draw forth
one more word
with meaning.

Like my spiraled world,
twisted
up and down my
finger,
bound by my own body..

..enslaved by my own mind.
at war with my voice.

I shall not speak
untill I've mentioned
one more..

one
more.

in essence..the poet is in many ways always at war with his voice and always enslaved by their mind..

but utter....

we'll listen... I promise.

Uttered
it can not be taken back
across lips and so slide
along the tongue to be eaten
as if it never was
for they lie now
on white
each syllable still
rancid in its taste
I have spit these words
to air

now I let them go
and would not again utter the same

were you to know

OH, the truth in your words mean a great deal to me...
you touch upon the very feelings I struggle to tame....

Kaoru, please don't you ever stop!

With each poem your growth is so evident as a poetess, and this was simply a brilliant piece of writing.
