you haven't talked to me in pretty tones in such a long long time
but tonight you speak softly
as if you remember what we had
as if the words i sent you touched you
i didn't know that could happen again
i thought you were untouchable

you haven't given me a hug in such a long long time
but tonight you're arms surround mine
as if you remember that song
as if the song we sang two years ago reached you
i didn't know that could happen again
i thought you were unreachable

you haven't handed your heart to me in such a long long time
but tonight you guard it safely with my palms
as if you remember the feeling
as if the dreams we had of forever danced for you
i didn't know that could happen again

i thought we had forgotten what forever tasted like

joy has its own justice. and dreams are languid and lawless. and everything bows to beauty, when it's fierce and when it's flawless...

Very well done!  Cherish this moment of beautiful discovery.

Excellent! I very much enjoyed this poem.
