You have sailed, eyes toward the horizon.
Squinting against the briny mist, the orange
glow of day...

Your journey carries, at times slowly rocking
against gentle swells...releasing the death grip
upon the weathered ship, sailing into waters
uncharted, rocky shoals lying ahead.

Those shoals, beyond the naked eye of see,
the thought of future mind....lying still among
the sea’s grasses...awaiting a wandering soul.

You have skirted the Horn, huddled against
the chill of winter’s frost, coating the rigging
of one’s essence....awaiting the sail into
waters calm, warm..

Against the night of dark, as gray hidden clouds
pelt the rains of sadness...you endure...
And you shall again walk the rail, sailing
to a distant star,   wishing you may, wishing
you might...upon this star...
star ever bright...

two words came to mind after I read this

(and no good poet people, not THOSE two )

"future history"

and blush--sheesh the nerve of me! Grin..I just name things to my preference I guess.

But I felt the motion of this, a sense of anticipation coupled with familiarity.

Enjoyed much. (I'm so HAPPY to be back today!)
