~* Winter's First Kiss *~

Icy wafers melt on tongues
Of playful children
Parading in pairs
Through streams of
Crystal misted laughter.

So playfully they crunch on
Last night’s un-warmed sheets,
And lacey coverlets strewn
In disarray for as far
As my eye can see.

On this frosty day
Her blue eyes quivered open
On rosy, blushed cheeks
Still warming from
Winter’s first kiss.

Then ... in a split second
Shimmering golden rays
Illuminate a slickered glaze
In a sight that could warm even
The coldest heart this day.

- 4 degrees here last night
brrrrrr

Try to make time to listen to
someone who talks from their heart.

Carpe' Diem

Wonderful!

We got our first snow here not too long ago, and it's getting to be in the negatives at night now. I love the winter, and you've depicted it well.

you know, normally I hate winter and the cold...but strangely, I'm kinda looking forward to it...and a late January escape to the mountains and this poem....reminded me, of how necessary are the winter months...so I'm not going to hibernate anymore, I'm going to get out there and enjoy the winter...and you have no one to blame but yourself...hehehehehehe

On this frosty day
Her blue eyes quivered open
On rosy, blushed cheeks
Still warming from
Winter’s first kiss.

This part actually makes me look foward to those snowy crispy days....

Now girl...I'm enjoying ALL the photos here...and was that C or F temperatures?  We had a lovely 27F that we woke up to, ourselves...and frost covered everything.

Welcome to Winter dear...what does this make, our third one together?  Can't think of anyone better to see it through with...I'll get the hot cocoa ready.

Ahh geez,

Winter, while celebrated by many, always finds me huddled under how I wish things to be. *sigh*

When i see that picture i can nearby feel and see the quietness it brings such morning just before the childrens laughter is breaking the softnessof the winter's first kiss.

Smile its great thanks for sharing

Thank you one and all for dropping in (better than me lately sorry , been busy.)  I think we had a really HOT summer and we are going to pay dearly this winter for that, so I am getting my shovelling muscles in shape LOL.  Thanks again, and JES welcome to Passions from Denmark.
