standing on a shadow's lace

Your Turn

tonight the wind cries
and I watch helplessly
as you feel like a failure
it hurts my heart
I listen to your words
and wonder why it is
you do not see the hope
standing at the door
it is of no matter
of what yesterday was
it is gone swept away
grained printed steps in wind
a new day has come
and it is what will fill
the spaces between the sand
something stable and concrete
do not let hope pass you by
stand now walk to the entrance
to open what it can bring
dreams have found you where
you have already been altered
by the shape of wings
and it is…your turn to fly

"Tough times never last...tough people do." carol gardner

You know what Helen? I love all your words, and every poem I've ever read of yours. But methinks this is my favourite.

Your words always speak to me, but this one seems to resonate much deeper with me.

Thankyou. Darren.

Beautiful...simply beautiful. This has to be one of your best, if that word can be applied to someone whose work is consistently excellent. I like the thought, and I like the execution.

Helen, I love this beautiful poem. I also
think that it's one of your best that I've
read. It has such great compassion throughout. :hearts:

Helen there is no doubt in my mind that this is my very favorite of yours.
Wow, what a wonderful message of which we can all learn from and relate to.  Very well done!!
