Tears from a sky
Devoid of light
Come down
And make me wish
For the comfort
Of the bookstore on Wells

I long to smell
The mix of book
And coffee
As I read and surmise
The mood of sky god
And if …
I could melt

I’ve never been one
For umbrella’s
Or raincoats
Truth be told
I love to tip my face to sky
And let the rain fall from my lashes

It gives me reason to remain
It makes me feel alive;
cleansing the dirt from a day
that just
wasn’t…
mine

I can so relate to your beautiful words!
At least we get the "idea" that the rain cleanses, even if it rains sand as it happens here sometimes ...
Great feelings, perfectly expressed!

The smell of books and coffee...

you personified this poem

and made it real
