Honky-Tonk 101
By: Noah Eaton
10/31/03

I could tell she was lookin’ for a lil’ fun tonight
So I said, “Hey baby, want me to take you for a spin?”
Cuz I know a great place where the neon rainbow buzzes,
and feels more festive than Austin City Limits.
So pull on them cowboy boots and Levis 501 jeans,
and hop right into this old Dodge truck and hustle
cuz I’m gonna show you how to swing

Let me play your favorite songs on the jukebox,
drop them slick nickels into the slot
Put your arms around me, let’s go taggin’ along
I’ll show you the secrets of rompin’ stompin’ around the clock
And you’ll be getting’ down like crazy,
before this honky-tonkin’ night is done.
That’s the course objective of Honky Tonk 101

Watchin’ her hop right on the barstools,
I could tell she was a natural
She’s got Jimmie Rodgers in her heart,
and Hank Thompson in her soul
She made all the crowds’ heads turn,
hotfoot shufflin’ like a loose cannon
She’s got electricity runnin’ through her heels,
a Texas twister looker getting’ everyone movin’

Let me play your favorite songs on the jukebox,
drop them slick nickels into the slot
Put your arms around me, let’s go taggin’ along
I’ll show you the secrets of rompin’ stompin’ around the clock
And you’ll be getting’ down like crazy,
before this honky-tonkin’ night is done.
That’s 100% guaranteed in Honky Tonk 101

She set their hearts hangin’ from the chandeliers,
the way she moves turns me on
With just a jack rabbit jump she came swingin’ to me,
shoutin’ “Take it away, Leon!”
I said, “You’re just like a second fiddle,
to that steel guitar!”
Congratulations, you’ve just aced this class,
you’re gonna be a shinin’ star!

Let me play your favorite songs on the jukebox,
drop them slick nickels into the slot
Put your arms around me, let’s go taggin’ along,
I’ll show you the secrets of rompin’ stompin’ around the clock
And you’ll be getting’ down like crazy,
before this honky-tonkin’ night is done.
That’s the promise of Honky Tonk 101

If you want to be getting’ down like crazy
Livin’ that honky-tonk dream you love,
Just come on down to Honky-Tonk 101

I don't need no proof when it comes to God and truth
I can see the sun set and I perceive

Wonderful writing here Noah.  I think more people should read it.....they don't know what they are missing out on.

Take care.........Sue

Well if this isn't a hoot-enanny and a half!
So that's where you hang out when you are not with us! Oh, well, that Honky-Tonk sounds like a real fun place to hang out!

Noah, this was a delightful read and would be a delight to listen and dance to! My toe is still tapping to the beat!

Have a great day, my dear angel friend!

Hey Noah, it's been awhile since I did any 2-steppin', but lets go and see if this old lady still has it!
