How could I?
Why would I
make that call
when I needed you
to be there
for her, for me.
You asked
and I couldn't answer...
when inside I screamed it out
but again no one heard.

Why should I?
How could I
when I didn't know then
anymore than I do now
where you were.

The signal is to weak
and your phone has the same
selective hearing that you do.

I couldn't tell you then
anymore than I can now...
and I pray
that someday even when
the words are silent

you will know
I don't NEED you
anymore....

Listening to every heart

Ah, selective hearing.
The loud ringing that only circles
back into itself...
when we choose not to hear.

Well done, Lady.  Well done, indeed.

That was strong. I loved it.

Cold hands means a warm heart
