I Know of Love

I know of love, for on that night of palest beams
The stars allowed my eyes to see through shadows what is real
And laid my fingertips upon the warmth of mellowed dreams
And on his flesh that only dawning silhouettes reveal

How kind the night to lay my head upon his skin
To pillow all the tenderness of soft and sun-kissed eyes
Unreachable, untouchable the sentiments within
Until the little stars became suspended in the skies

Though in the course of time, the distant pictures fade
And life’s most sacred moment flies the winds on fragile wings
I praise the stars for granting me this privilege sweetly paid
For now I know of love, that never dies, that ever sings

Elizabeth?

I must say these are THE most touching lines I have read in a long time:

And life’s most sacred moment flies the winds on fragile wings
I praise the stars for granting me this privilege sweetly paid
For now I know of love, that never dies, that ever sings

truly, a gift

From your pen, to God's ear,
that your knowledge ever sings.

Well done, Lady Santos.
So good to see you back where you belong!

To have loved like this, and you did, is something few people will ever get in their lifetime.  Liz this was so smooth and slick that I didn't even realize the rhyme within as it flowed so well.  I do believe this is one of your very best ever.

Try to make time to listen to
someone who talks from their heart.

This is absolutely beautiful, my friend... and like Mysteria said... one of your very best.
