Living fast, living hard
In this world I walk alone
Momentary connections seem
To turn my heart to stone

I remember the simple times
As a child living in grace
And struggled as I became
Part of the modern race

Untouched by the passion
Hoping for what may be
I wore the mask of uncaring
Until you gave the poetry of life to me

You give back all that you described and more. *heartfelt hugs* (I'd offer merlot kisses but you don't drink. )

Oh what the hell, live a little.

Sharon?

you have no idea what this means to me!

YES indeed the poetry of life
My God, I have just discovered myself

And in that giving,
much was stripped away
revealing a poet of heart.
Thank goodness for that, Sharon...

thank you for this.

This is very touching....

Will the wind ever remember the names
it has blown in the past with
its crutch its old age and its widsom
it whispers no this won't be the last

Sharon, this is beautiful. I know about "the mask of uncaring", too.
Hugs to you, sweet lady

Thank you all for your kind words!!! Sometimes these things write themselves and this one did.

Well I am sure glad you found a way to strip away the layers to become who you now are through poetry.  We all like what we see very, very much.  It wrote itself?  Kewl, auto poetry, give me the recipe for that potion will you?

The last verse really grabbed me.  Poetry is so many things, and a very special gift in itself.

Nice writing Ms. devine~
