Moved from a shack to a barn

"Magic" She said
"Is still alive and well in you"

And I wondered
where?

Does it yet abide
in this long hair gone gray
or in the body
lamed by life?

Or, perhaps she felt or heard
or saw something long buried

A glint
from fresh-chipped glass
that she thought...diamond

But, the fact
that it was there
weaving itself about us
is undeniable

And leads me to think
that it is she
not me
that calls forth the glamour

Not my old charlatans' tricks
of smoke and mirror
or my clumsy sleight of hand

"In looking Northward, I see a light"

I have now caught myself up on this series...
you write with such a tender, humble pen poet sir.
Looking forward to more of these vignettes.

You're the color of the sky reflected in each store-front window pane ...
You're the whispering and the sighing of my tires in the rain.

Well Wranx, looks like I'd better go find day's one two and three hey?

(btw - I think your critique message is outdated, it's hardly a passing thing is it? )

I only differ with one thought, sweets.

I'll argue that this is not a "glamour".

I believe.

The day the rain fell
you held my hand
walking along Elmwood Avenue
I was proud to be there
by your side
for the world to see
this man, I love
who shares my soul, my life, my eternity
and as we strolled
I looked up to you
wondering exactly what you were thinking
Were you happy?
Was this what you expected?
And then you looked down at me
and with your shine
of eye
and glint of steel sight
I saw

that we were exactly where we needed to be

My God Ed that was beautiful up there . . .
it is you . .  trust me on this
*smiling*
thank you for you and for this

I'm thinking it's the combination...that is magic!
That's it, I'm calling in sick today and going to Fla.

To be frank, my overall take is "impressive", but... don't you hate that word?... I have to agree with a previous post about the word "glamour".  The rest is phenominal, though.

O.K. Ed, first of all you have been grey since 23, Second of all, you have never given yourself any credit. I've always known how brilliant you are. You never, never saw this in yourself. I'm so envious of your talents and humor and quick replies. Finally you have faith in yourself.
