I would like to say that I hope this poem doesn't offend anyone in their beliefs. I truly believe that everyone has a right to their own beliefs and that no-one should try to force their own on someone else. That was certainly not my intentions when I posted it here in Open. I didn't know if it was okay to do so or not. This poem means a lot to me and I wanted to share it with my friends. Thank you all for your patience with me.

~*~
Jesus our Saviour, most precious to be
Bringing salvation to you and to me
Beyond any compare, He is a friend
To guide us and help us, there is no end

Being victorious o'er trials of this earth
Protecting with angels, beginning at birth
His Spirit is felt as we walk about
Making us want to His praises shout

He loves us and to us gives His sweet care
His presence we feel about us everywhere
When too much to carry, the cross we bear weighs
In His arms He carries us through those days

Or if we feel pain, much sorrow or woe
He walks there beside us to let us know
That He is right by us through day and in night
Making darkness to change into a bright light

Beyond compare, He will be our friend
With His love immeasurable lasting 'til our end
He prepared a home in Heaven, above in the sky
Twill be peace forevermore in the sweet by and by
~*~

Oh Ethel, what a beautiful writing this is! With this Holiday season coming up, it helps us remember the spiritual side of life, and the true reason to celebrate...~S~

you reminded me of the song "In The Sweet By And By"
written by bennett and webster... webster was a true poet often with the melancholy spirit that poets have... the words he penned tell us of what we'll have, if we just believe of what you wrote
he wrote "There’s a land that is fairer than day,
And by faith we can see it afar;
For the Father waits over the way
To prepare us a dwelling place there.
In the sweet by and by,
We shall meet on that beautiful shore;"

isn't it amazing to know that if we just have faith, and give our lives up to Him, what He will do for us?
you've got me all preachy now Ethel this is beautiful, I love it.

Always, Alyssa

Alyssa, thank you for the song. I have sung that one many times. It has always been one of my favorites. I thought of it when I wrote the last line.
I'm glad that you enjoyed my poem. I wondered if maybe I should have put it in the Spiritual Forum. I didn't want to offend anyone.
.
James, thank you very much for thinking my poem is beautiful. I appreciate that.

gary'sgirl,
I've been wanting to get back with you about the birthdate question.  Mine was a day after yours--happy belated birthday!
I enjoyed your write, remembering a major time in my life when He got me through.  My
7 year old son incurred a major head injury.
In transport to the hospital, seeing him on the cot, i was helpless to do anything but pray that God would do what he thought best and to only give me strength and faithenough to fill only a mustard seed.I kept imagining how little faith that would take to fill such a seed, squeezing my hand around it.   As it turned out, they were able to manupulate his skull back in place and miraculously he has little side affects.
God sent a pretty wonderful neurosurgeon to us who shared God's hope.   He asked me if I knew what the dura mata meant in Latin (that's the covering around the skull).  Saying no, he explained, "It means tough mama!"  To this day, I feel that he was one of God's instruments to get me through the day.

The lord is a rock, unto us all, on which we can always seek shelter, no matter what has befallen us, or what we have done. Loved the poem.

Oh Noah, I know. The way Jesus gave His life for all of us so that we might have life eternal really blesses my soul. But the way He had to die and suffer hurts me very deeply. Thanks for your comments and the beautiful pcture.
.
Sadelite, thank you, and Happy Belated Birthday to you, too.
Thank you, too, for the wonderful testimony of God's miracles even today. That is a true miracle. I love that He is always working for us. Give your little son a hug for me.
.
Thank you, sweet Linda Lou. Do you how special you really are? I do believe that you are an Angel, my friend. Thank you for being you.
.
Rob, you are absolutely right. He is our Rock, and He will shelter us...no matter what we've done or who we are. And, how very well I know this, because I surely haven't been perfect in my life. Even though I may have failed Him through the sins of omission, He has  NEVER  failed me. Thank you for your reply.

I didn't know if it was okay to put this poem in this forum, because I didn't want to offend anyone. If it does, I humbly apologize. I truly believe that everyone has a right to their own beliefs, and I think it's very wrong for someone to try to push their beliefs on anyone else. That is not my intention here at all. I just felt this poem so strongly that I wanted to share it with all my friends here. I truly hope that I haven't offended anyone by doing so.

I appreciate so much each of you who have replied to my poem, and thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
With love and hugs
Ethel
