Where is my story?
I had it just near
My grandma is coming and she wants to hear

Let me see here - is my story near?
"I do not like green eggs and ham. I do not like them Sam I am".
No not this.

Is this my story?
I wrote it myself
And last that I saw it was here on the shelf

Let me just look is this my book?
"one fish two fish, red fish blue fish"
oh Noooooo!

Where is my story?
I wrote down the words
To tell to my grandma of school and those birds

Now let me see, is this by me?
"Once upon a time in the middle of a rhyme"
No, No not that one.

Where is my story
Oh where can it be?
I drew all the pictures for grandma and me

It could be up high. Is this mine I spy?
"I want to tease, if you please"
no, no that's not it! Not it at all

Where is my story
I know it was here
And now I must hurry for grandma is near

It's this one I think - I wrote it in ink
"Francis Fry, private eye"
Nooooooo!

Where is my story?
Oh this is a mess
I wanted to show her but can't now, I guess

I hear grandma knocking, oh! This is so shocking
I wrote of the moon and the birds and the stars
I even drew pictures of Venus and Mars
I was so happy writing my tale
And now it is lost - I just want to wail

But grandma is knocking I haven't the time
To make a new story or even a rhyme
Grandma just holds me, she just holds me tight
And gives me a present - I squeal with delight
For here is my story all printed and new
It's amazing what grandma and me can both do

And now I remember when I read it loud
My mummy was listening and she was so proud
She looked at my story and posted in on
And grandma, she read it while eating a scone

She told all her friends and they liked it too
So she told all her pets that she kept at the zoo
She showed the butcher and the baker as well
They thought it was special they said it was swell
She went to the printers and had my book bound
And I am so happy my story is found

Oh Yes! Let's read together grandma

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

Hehe. So cute.  This would be a really good children's poem (and I mean that in a very good way).

I do not know whether I was then a man dreaming I was a butterfly, or whether I am now a butterfly dreaming I am a man.

I love this!! *S* Reading it is the gift of a visit with my little nephew... right here in the middle of a workday. *S* I'm saving it to read to him (he's CRAZY for Dr. Seuss! *G*)

Beloved one, when you write like this, I can see the delight of being with Jay, it simply shines through. As I’ve said often and often you have such quality in your work, the range the scope the degree of structure and form all go to show the quality of you as a writer, as a great writer. This is exactly the type of poem that will display your huge talent to all those who read you. Admittedly there are some who will be wildly jealous simply because you are amazingly talented, but if they are serious about writing they will learn that to read quality is the first step to them growing into better writers. Yes, beloved I am biased, but also as I’ve said before that bias couldn’t make you a great writer, which you are. And this is just a small sample of your ability, that ability that allows words to flow and be real, true representations of life.

Well done beloved this is excellent work I love it utterly

Love you always
and forever
