Lil' Ole Opry
By: Noah Eaton
7/7/02

Slip the clutch, let it all swing
Do the twist, let your soul sing
Come now, we've got to hurry-scurry
Upon the Lil' Ole Opry

Forget those blue suede shoes
No need to come in on a Mercedes-Bens
Your smile is all I need
To throb and steal my heart again
I'll teach you how to dance two-step
Just follow my lead, then unite
Hop up in your plaid and blue jeans
We can make the most of this moonlight

Give 'em a holler, cause everything is hunky-dory
Toe shoes head over heels, and then you're going
You feel like Mark Cohn driving that silver thunderbird
So bring the pedal to the metal and let your legs work

Slip the clutch, let it all swing
Do the twist, let your soul sing
Come now, we've got to hurry-scurry
Upon the Lil' Ole Opry

Sit down and watch the band play away
Strum myriads of steel guitar
That bring meteor showers to the platform
And melt away the stars
You have Nashville written all over you
But you've got Memphis in your soul
Just jingle to the fiddle-faddling fiddle
As we go down the line in alamo

Celebrate, because its also hip to be square
We'll take it home, for nothing else compares
Together we'll cast tidal waves
I'm feeling very good, so let's keep on dancin' the night away

Slip the clutch, let it all swing
Do the twist, let your soul sing
Come now, we'll dance like crazy
On this Lil' Ole Opry

I don't need no proof when it comes to God and truth
I can see the sun set and I perceive

***Live***

This makes me want to line dance or a square dance. I loved it.

You've got these gypsy feet up and moving to the beat!!! Nashville and Memphis are my two favorite cities...music cities, full of life, dance, and felt all over the world! Great one, Noah!  ~S~

Accept these small gifts from my gypsy heart  ~S~

How dare you be that young looking and that talented! (That's you in the picture is it not?) Bravo! I am so jealous at the moment...I think I'll just go lay in the corner and chew my arm off! (Laughing out loud.) Very very well done.

Remember, if you're not part of the future, you're history!
