A sorcerer's life has taught me well,
I've learned just how to control
A power deep within myself,
To look into your soul.

Sit and rest weary trav'ller,
The tavern's alive tonight,
The sounds of warriors laughing
As they recollect their fights.

They seem not to care, but look again;
See the pain in their eyes?
None of them was prepared to lose,
It'll come as a surprise...

These warriors each has a reason,
A darkness in his past,
An enemy to conquer,
They'll fight him to the last.

The thieves at the table to our right?
They're naught but noble men;
Each was forced to steal to live
Time and time again.

The wizards to our left now?
Wise and kind, and centuries old;
Their age has brought more wisdom than ours,
If I may be so bold.

The healers sitting silently?
The ones watching the rain?
They live for light and happiness,
Though each one faces pain.

The paladin at the bar?
A noble and powerful breed;
Paladins are warriors
Who aren't afraid to bleed.

The man in the dark corner?
I agree, none here seem stranger;
I'll tell you now he's not to be trusted,
For you see, that man is a ranger.

The one there at the door?
Any fool can plainly see
That he's another sorcerer,
Looking inside of me.

He's looking inside my soul,
Though it's one he'll never hold;
A promise pledged it long ago,
A bond so pure, like gold.

He's come here seeking trouble,
Perhaps he wants revenge;
You see fellow trav'ller,
He lost in our challenge.

He challenged me to beat him
In a contest or power and skill,
But he never expected one so pure and innocent
To show such a steadfast will.

You see, as I stood o'er him,
I heard my love call out:
"You needn't finish him now!
You've won without a doubt!"

Oh, deceitful day, why torture me?
Why does he block my way?
You see, fellow trav'ller,
I'd stolen her heart that day.

But he stole away her life,
though never could touch her soul;
She already pledged that to me,
Her love, my life's true goal.

What became of him, you ask me?
He stands there in the door.
She won't allow me vengeance,
Though she gives me so much more.

So stand aside young trav'ller,
And watch us old fools do battle.
I'd suggest you mount your horse
And ride off in a saddle.

What? You won't run?
Instead you unsheathe a sword?
Foolish trav'lling warrior!
Are you sure you're not just bored?

You thought the others like you
Bored when they stood first,
But could it be you wish for vengeance?
Have I given you my thirst?

Pray, tell me noble fighter,
Why is it that you fight?
Chaos brings me darkness,
But has it brought you light?

My light, you ask? It's still so bright,
Its warmth has made me strong.
This battle's gone too far though;
This has gone on too long.

Fly, adventurer, don't take my end,
Don't sacrifice thy life!
It may not be that sabre you wield,
But I've still got my knife.

Nay friend, to stay is death,
And I've no other reason to live,
And should I die today,
To my love, my soul I give.
They still wonder to this day
What died and what was spared,
For you see the sorcerer showed his love
How deeply he truly cared.

Because with these words, the fighter charged,
And would have found rest in Hell,
But all the village was destroyed
By the sorcerer's weakest spell.

The warriors rose and shouted
Words of honour and noble pride;
In the end, it's not the strong,
But the weak, who fin'lly decide.

What is life without poetry and adventure?
"Little sister" is just another way of saying "Guardian Angel"!
