Beading

I suppose I should sort these beads,
isn’t that what is expected?
Separate colors, sizes
while waiting to be connected.

My daughter strings them together,
fingers in deft concentration.
My son creates snakes and dragons,
alive by imagination.

My baubles used to be gold-filled,
I traded them for these glass stones.
They remind me of my ocean
a kaleidoscope of unknowns.

What I want is to watch them float,
sifting and shifting randomly.
While everyone is culling theirs,
I’ll throw mine high, haphazardly.

Thanks Sunshine! Been struggling with writing lately - all dryed up for some reason or another. How is your writing coming along?
