In my eyes a fire burns,
The flame of a tortured soul;
Life's taken so many twists and turns,
I've damn near lost control.

Excuse my language, weary trav'ller,
You see, I've tales to tell;
I've seen the warmest light of Heaven,
And I've seen the fiery pits of Hell.

So pardon me, oh respected nobles,
For manners so brash and old;
You see my cup's run dry again,
And my heart's turned so danged cold.

A warrior's naught but a boy, they say,
Until he first holds a sword;
A true hero's naught but a man, they tell me,
Who's decided to cut the cord.

But what of a paladin seeking love?
A hero wanting to be with his princess forever?
Is he to lose her time and time again,
And not get to tell her what he feels, ever?

So young he was when his heart grew so hard,
It'd almost become a rock!
But then another offered affection,
And again restarted the clock.

So now it comes to a choice of two,
Of present and of past.
But which one should this paladin choose?
Familiar first or lucky last?

What is life without poetry and adventure?
"Little sister" is just another way of saying "Guardian Angel"!

I liked all the midieval imagery here, it felt very noble. Great writing, lets give it the old *bump* to the top!
