Observatory
By: Noah Eaton
10/21/03

.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Over by the balcony she stares...

marking Delphinus as her territory...

She just wanted to be the Queen of the Sea...

find the better part of her she seeks,

find that denouement for the story...
.
.
.
.
Since she was six she dreamed...

for an intergalactic ride upon Cygnus...

she's a baby sleeping soundly in space...

resting her head on magellanic clouds...
.
.
.
.
And inside the observatory,
the stars feel all too close,
she watches the moon chase her
rolling through telescopes.
Thanking the heavens,
the moon is her protector,
she's been looking far past
this pair of binoculars...
.
.
.
.
Blowing helium bubbles...

...deep on Andromeda's discotheque...

...she swims in the lagoons of Pleiades...

...rides a unicycle upon the summer Milky Way...

...and scoops a spoon of Centauri...

...like her favorite bowl of Campbell's chicken and stars soup...

...she skips about with helix nebula eyes...

...growing brighter ever so soon...
.
.
.
.
And inside the observatory,
the stars feel all too close,
she watches the moon chase her
rolling through telescopes.
Thanking the heavens,
the moon is her protector,
she's been looking far past
this pair of binoculars...
.
.
.
.
Upon the south side,
you can see the zodiacal light...
.
.
Green flashes,
neon floodlights strobing the night...
.
.
Star trails raining hail,
like a Geminid meteor shower...
.
.
Occultation,
is beyond the watchtower...

.
.
.
.
.
.
And inside the observatory,
the stars feel all too close,
she watches the moon chase her
rolling through telescopes.
Thanking the heavens,
the moon is her protector,
she's been looking far past
this pair of binoculars...
.
.
.
.

Over by the balcony she stares...

marking Delphinus as her territory...

She just wanted to be the Queen of the Sea...

find the better part of her,

find that denouement to the story...
.
.
.

I don't need no proof when it comes to God and truth
I can see the sun set and I perceive

Hi Noah. When I first read this there was still no comments yet so I waited a few mins and there was one. Now I can post. I just didn't want to be the first, because I haven't been here as long as the other people here, but I loved this. What a flight to the moon and stars...a magic carpet ride.
Love,
Terri~
