Twelve Guitars And A Keyboard

The stage dark, black curtain as a backdrop.
In the center,
there sits twelve guitars and a keyboard.
Each guitar having a story to tell,
waiting patiently to have their
neck caressed into
a composition of intricate design.
The man of music enters center stage,
wearing black jeans and a shirt of silky blue gray.
He smiles and talks awhile,
gently caressing the strings of the
weeping guitar.
He sings of love and her tears-
Life and her tragedy, her inconsistency
The earth, her beauty and of The Pretender.
As the music floats across the stage-
A deep ache enters my chest
I sit hiding unshed tears
Hoping no one will see
how the music has touched me deep
within my sensitive soul.
He strokes the neck and body of the guitar-
Caressing each string,
this wooden masterpiece,
as if she is
a beautiful woman sitting upon his knee.
He tells of his travels around the world-
How he rescues guitars from foreign hands
Then scolds himself for buying yet another beautiful guitar.
He says with a smile,
he could not leave home without these
twelve and his soulful keyboard.
Three hours later, this beauty comes to an end.
We stand and give him resounding applause,
singing his praise.
Hoping, he will play one more time.
He leaves center stage, the lights dim.
From the speakers high above comes
the sound we do not wish to hear.
Ladies and Gentlemen
Jackson Browne has left the house.

music...sigh....beautiful...words, music, one and the same, just listen for one in the other

i think that it's brainless to assume that making changes to your window's view will gain a new perspective.
