You came from out of nowhere And just as quickly you were gone You touched my heart deep inside And no longer was I alone The days still come and go Like they did before But now there’s something missing I’ve lost a friend once more You listened without criticism And judge me, you did not You made me feel like someone And for awhile, all my troubles I forgot We used to know what the other was thinking What she felt and what she dreamed Now I’ve been left alone again to wonder If everything was ever really what it seemed You said you’d never hurt me Knowing how hard for me it was to let you in Now here I sit quietly Determined to never let anyone in again I know you have your reasons But I just can’t understand How it doesn’t bother you That this friendship has come to an end Maybe I’m wrong and you do care Maybe more than I’ll ever know But it doesn’t change the fact That you’ll be absent from all of my tomorrows I know I should be grateful For what little time we’ve shared Though I cannot help but wonder Who will comfort me now when I get scared? If but only for a moment I could see your smiling face All the pain and sorrow In my heart, it would erase You want me to be happy But you are imbedded in my mind So please help me understand How to let go of what I never again will find |

It is hard to understand how a situation can change in the blink of an eye. Like so many things happen when we least expect them too. Some people don't ever look back, or consider the damage done, they just wipe the slate clean and move along. that's weird my name is Kris too..well Kristen and my grandpa also called me sweetpea well one of the many lil names when I was little.. yeah..I'm having a moment..love this nontheless If at first you don't succeed destroy all the evidence that you tried. |

I just want to thank all of you for such a warm welcome. I truly appreciate all of your kind words about my poem. This poem was the written last month and is the first one I have written since the 8th grade, which was several years ago. I was never very good at it until now and probably never would have started doing it if it weren't for the person I wrote this about. So for that, I thank her. Again, I thank all of you and look forward to posting more, as well as reading everyone's poetry. |
