Sanctuaries Shawl

Sanctuaries shawl of lace
A rose and a sprawl of space
Sitting in a timeless jar
A flower shining from afar

Memories of lighted wicks
Melted wax of candlesticks
Shadows dancing on a stain
Dancing on a former reign

Covered with a blankets blind
Subject to a state of mind
Sleeping in a well of wish
Sweet as honey from a dish

Fed upon in times of need
Sprouting seeds of former deed
Glories of a timeless cast
Brought to shore in mimes of past

A widow’s walk along the shore
Nothing less and nothing more
